I did not fail to communicate to the Spanish Govt the information conveyed to me in Your Lordship's Desp: No:151 of the 16th Inst: that the Governors of Hongkong & Labuan had been instructed to issue proclamations similar to those issued by the Governor of the Straits Settlements prohibiting the export of arms & ammunition to the Phillippine Islands.

In a note which has reached me the Duke of Tetuan acknowledges with gratitude this new proof of friendship on the part of H.M.Govt.
